Is there anyone else anxious about the upcoming baseball season? I know football is probably the first sport on American's minds at the moment, but I can't wait for baseball to start up. With so many big moves in the off season how could you not be excited? Of course, it could just be that I'm a Boston fan that's over-reacting to the recent acquisitions... ;D Anyway, anyone else out there feeling the same way?

well I support the Astros. so go 'stros.
btw, screw Petitte..what a punk move anyway. but i do agree , the amount of money being thrown around at not the greatest quality of players was amazing. and that Japanese pitchers and Zito's deal going over $100 million? what the heck really. who do you support thegr8vincenzo?

I'm a Red Sox fan all the way. I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed about Matsuzaka, I know he's going to do well but worth 103 mil?.. I guess we'll all see.
You think Clemens will remain with the 'stros this year (if he comes back) or is Andy's trip out of Houston a sign that Roger is leaving too?

this day and age, ofcourse money is the final decision maker..but this fool was running around town saying that he is definetly planning on retiring, but if he decides to come back..it will be only Houston. Houston offered him $14 million and NY offered him $16 plus an option for the 3rd year..yeah well i guess money did make the decision. then him and his agents run a press conference saying that houston didnt do enough to keep him there.. screw you. As far as Clemens goes..i like the guy..but he has always been a hired gun at the end of the day. he has no allegiance..he'll go wherever he feels like..prolly the only guy teams'll pay big money just for half a season. haha.. so about this Japanese guy..have you seen him play? how good is he? geez..

Ya know, I feel for you. I felt the same betrayal (still do) when Demon joined the Yankees. It sucks to lose a veteran pitcher like Petitte. But last year he had a sub-par season, so maybe it was for the best? He's getting up there in years so his arm could be on the decline. I don't know, I didn't really follow Houston that much last year, but I did have Petitte on my fantasy team and I was very disappointed with his stats. Are there any talks about who's going to replace him in the rotation?
As for Matsuzaka, I have not seen him pitch but I have been listening and reading up on as much as I can about him. I know in his 6+ years pitching in Japan his career era was below 3.00, and that he was named series MVP in the World Baseball Classic championship series. He's got a lot of hype behind him, and I'm hoping he can live up to it but can anyone live up to 103 million dollars? I mean, just look at A-Rod. I'm not saying that he isn't a great player but the guy has yet to become the CONSISTENT all-star threat that he's supposed to be. So I'm trying my hardest to put the whole thing out of my mind and just see what happens when the season starts. Anyway, are there any other baseball fans out there? Anyone have favorite teams elsewhere in the country? Come on people... there have to be more out there!

yeah I remember when Demon joined the Yanks. yeah and about Pettite thats why 'stros didnt offer him anything more than $14 and even an option for a 3rd year..he had a subpar season and the years he was here..he was only useful for what ..like one? As for replacing him, not sure. I've been youtubing this Matsuzaka guy and following him ever since he joined the Sox. and as for A-rod , lol...yeah thats a lot of money gone down the drain, but hes still a good player..although i cant put him in the great players column yet

Screw Barry Bonds. When he does pass Hank Aaron's record, that number will have an "*" by it..so we all know, what he did to get there
I support the Astros, but boy do they frustrate the hell out of me. The last time they went to the world series, is when the entire city gave up on them...so if you guys are listening...I GIVE UP!!!
