Well I'm glad to see others are taking advantage of the low prices on parts for ebay, I couldn't help buying an extra to put away just in case the screen breaks again.
I don't think doing a factory reset will help as this is a hardware issue, the first step would be to post the link (if available) to the screen you bought simply to double check its validity (I'm not saying you bought the wrong part just starting with the basics). The second step is to make sure the connection to the main board is clean. If both these dont help it is possible the foam is giving you trouble (creating static which would disrupt the function of the screen). I hate to ask you to do this now that you've gotten it looking nice, but you'll need to detach the screen from the foam, plug it in and see if it works. Try this and let it know if it works, if it is the foam I can recommend some alternative methods of attaching it.
