Default 120 gb Zune syncing incompletely.

Having problems syncing 120 gig Zune. I'm ripping audio book CDs. on a Win7 - 64 bit machine. I can see and play the CDs on my computer but they don't sync completely. I might get 15 discs to move over to the Zune but 3 of the CDs will have only 1 track on each or it will skip tracks 3,7,and 12 or just skip CD5 - very inconsistant. I've tried dragging the tracks or CDs to the Zune but it ignores my efforts. I've tried rebooting and reformatting the Zune, downloaded some software, Zune Media Collection Reset Tool but it didn't do anything either. Any suggestions?

There is only partial, if any metadata for the tracks (and no way for the ripping software to look them up online as is done for music CDs.) MP3 players use that to identify the tracks (there is no file naming convention, so file names sometimes help a bit, but are very inconsistent.) You will need to manually tag the tracks, using the ID3v2.3 standard. You will have to figure out how to translate book data into music fields... something like book title in album name, chapters as songs, chapter numbers as track numbers, etc. should work out ok. You can batch edit the tags using MP3Tag, a free and safe online tool.

Actually, I have re-named the disks and the tracks - it looks perfect on the computer but still refuses to sync to the Zune.

As I mentioned, file names are irrelevant. It is the metadata (tags) that mp3 app's and players need. there is no standard way to name files that is useful to the players and app's...
