Problems with second gen Zune 80gb

So I got my Zune 80gb a long time ago. My version says "Hello From Seattle." on it. So I'm not exactly sure what version it is.

To the point, my zune makes these weird clicking noises and was doing it for about a year. Last year I had problems syncing my music and now it won't sync at all.

So I'm guessing that's the hard drive.

I ended up getting a 160 gb iPod... which I'll be honest. I hate the **** out of it. It doesn't sync a lot of my music, then it does duplicates, other times it looks like it syncs music but it won't play on my ipod, then a lot of the time music just randomly disappears for no reason.

So basically what I'm wondering is can I take the hard drive out of my iPod 160gb and put it in my 80gb Zune? I'm really tired of the iPod.

Or should I just buy a new hard drive for the zune, or is there a fix to my zune not syncing the music? I've tried formating, flashing back to original firmware.

the clicking is the head seeking and failing to find the data... and hitting the stops. This could be a simple as it needs to be formatted (erase all and resync) or signs of a failing hard drive. your ipod drive may or may not fit... probably not, or we'd probably have heard of folks doing the swap one way or the other. You can buy a new hard drive for zunes from rapidrepair.com (a drive that is guaranteed to be compatible.)
