Strange Issues with my 120 gb GOWSE Zune.
So, I've had this Gears of War 2 Special Edition 120 Gb Zune since September of 2011, and it's been treating me well so far.
Yesterday, I was listening to music on my zune fine. No issues. No freezing. Nothing. Then, the following morning, I try to play something (that I downloaded from the zune marketplace, not from my original collection) on my zune and it wouldn't let me. I tried another artist and the same thing arose. After going through the 250 artists and nearly 15,000 songs, nothing that I downloaded from the marketplace was working - only the stuff that wasn't in .wma format. But then some of the stuff that I bought with zune credits wouldn’t play on my zune and even some of my own songs wouldn’t play.
So, I tried syncing my zune with my library again ... and no success was achieved on my part. Not only was the syncing process INCREDIBLY slow, but when I tried to repeatedly sync new material to the device, it would not work. For a time frame reference, I tried to sync 26 new songs (SONGS, not artists) with the device and I left it alone. I came back 30 minutes later to the sync process being 60% "done" and all the music it tried to sync with was placed in the "not added to device" list.
I'm normally pretty good with tech stuff, but I'm completely lost on this one. If anyone could offer some advice, I'd be much obliged.
UPDATE:
I actually realized that I left a few things out. For one, when I try to play a song on my zune, it says one of 2 things:
1. The file is missing or cannot be played.
2. The usage rights for this item have expired. Please Sync your device.
Now the strange thing is that all my music works in my zune library. If I bring up the software on my computer, I can play anything from my library with no restrictions. It seems my zune is what’s restricted, and it won’t properly sync with my library.
Help will be much appreciated.
