Default Nokia Ace on the way

Got a couple of tidbits for you today. All you Americans out there still drooling over the Lumia 800? Good news for you, it seems like your waiting is going to pay off. Remember how we said that the Lumia 800 may be delayed to inlcude 4G support? Well, looks like that's in the pipeline, along with a few other things.

This is a recent leak of the Lumia 900 "Ace," sort of like the last time we got a sneak peek in promo material. This time it comes in the form of a Christmas card; what a nice present! The immediately noticeable differences are quite subtle: a front-facing camera, a smaller bezel, speaker moved down into the bezel, and a slightly squarer look. At first glance it would be entirely forgivable to mistake it for a Lumia 800. It also has AT&T branding which is, well, not a surprise. Hopefully that little corner will have a few different logos in the future. The other corner shows a welcome 4G logo.

We also have this side-by-side comparison of the 800 and the 900 and some stats. The screen size has been increased to 4.3 inches, however the resolution (as enforced in the WP7 specs) is the same. The 900 will have the standard 512 MB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera, and a 1830 mAh battery, which should hopefully translate to long battery life. It weighs slightly more than the 800, though is the same thickness. It will also have an antenna capable of running on T-Mobile, so even if not officially available, it may be possible to coax it onto their network. Hopefully we can get some more details at CES, which is approaching rapidly.
