I did not buy a Zune for the apps. That would have been foolish. However, I did expect some quality. The new ones however are such a pain.

The E-Reader for example can only hold 10 books. Why is this? Why can it only hold 10 books? It has the features already in it to use 100's. The only limit I see is memory and books are far less memory consuming than music... Even worse it barely works. The catalog, for example, throws an unknown error. I have managed to add 9 books (I deleted the frivolous ones like the evolution theory of Darwin etc due to 10 book limit). Now whenever I run the program it runs until I try to read one, than it simply quits. No reason is given for this. Thus, the app is now useless.

More annoying is the "Slider Puzzle" app. If you move fast enough it works fine, but if you go to slow when selecting a picture it throws an unhandled exception (it's interesting actually, causing my Zune to look much like a computer terminal). Anyway, the app falls flat on its face and dies.

This coming from the same people that limited the number of apps to ensure better quality. It is really annoying. Has anyone else encountered these issues and/or know any solutions? It is kind of humiliating for Microsofts apps to be beat by some of the community apps that occur here.

they tried to fix that bug with the slider app when it was still in beta, and they succeeded for the most part. as for the ereader, it just sucks. you can try reinstalling the app and/or the firmware, that could help. and you have to admit, the majority of the apps are good quality

Except if you reinstall the reader it removes all your books and you have to go and readd them... not fun in my opinion...

Of course you could always go buy the actual books. Or a device intended as a book reader...

And yes, they are better than the ipod apps, because MS went for quality over quantity

Depends on the app really, I like some iPod apps. No matter the media, great artwork can be created.

It's just that there's such a small pool for Zune that when an app is posted it needs to be quality.

That being said, I don't like some of the apps for the zHD.

Most apps and games for Zund HD's are just modified games previously made from iPod.
More original things would be nice.

That is hilarious. Let me know when you can have apps that are actually USEFUL on a zune. Until then I will continue to use very polished apps from well name companies on my iPhone.

If the apps on the Zune are so good then why do we have 11 pages of threads requesting games/apps that i am 80% sure can be found in the Apple App Store?

With the few apps we have, I think it would be nice if they at least maybe updated them? Like the reader... I keep getting the "unexpected error". Does anyone here know why that is? I know I was able to connect to feedbooks a while back but now I can't. Or are there other places to download from?
