Halo did not really loose it's dev team. Bungie wanted to move on, and signed a 10 year deal with Activi. If I am correct, there are quite a few employee's from Bungie now working at 343 helping create a new game. Besides that, CoD will die, just because a bunch of dumb 10 year olds are buying it, it has ran the FPS genre into the ground. EVERY studio developing a FPS feels like they need to make it like CoD to sell, and that disturbs me.
I heard that they team at 343 were either A) going to remake the Marathon series or B) remake Halo: Combat Evolved. Personally, I hope it is neither. Halo is now just an old, over-milked bovine that is ill-fated. A remake of Marathon will eventually experience the same misfortune.
Anyway, I liked the CoD series- until MW2 was released. Irrational perks, overpowered weapons, and ridiculous hitboxes led to its demise. Black Ops was a generally great game, but campers that only use the FAMAS, AUG, and AK74U ruined that as well. CoD4 was the best game ever..
