I'm getting my Zune HD next week, and I just happen to love Android and know how to compile stuff on Linux. So, I'll just say right now that I'll give it a go. If a Windows Mobile phone can be hacked into, why not the Zune? It's a Microsoft product anyway!
Might as well make a TODO list while I'm at it, soooo...
TODO
- Basic accelerometer/audio/video wi-fi drivers, which shouldn't be THAT hard since the Zune is running Windows Embedded CE. It's all about finding all the Linux alternatives.
And I'll leave all the default Android settings/skins/etc.

Getting Android to work with the zune HDs hardware is the easy part. Getting the zune HD to boot into android is the hard part. Firmware on the ZHD has to have a specific signature for the device to accept it.
This has been said about a lot of devices not able of being hacked. PS3 not hackable. DONE PSP not hackable DONE. Nintendo Wii not hackable DONE. Nintendo DS not hackable DONE. Cell phones Not hackable or jail broke DONE. This is just another device that will be broken all it takes is time.
