Default How to sync your ZuneHD(only) with a Mac (Windows NOT Required)

Use at own risk, it's probably disabled for a reason!
  1. Download the Windows Phone 7 Connector
  2. Open Windows Phone 7 Connector and then quit it to generate preference files. (Quit in the menubar icon, too)
  3. Open the Terminal (if you can't find it, just type "Terminal" in Spotlight) and copy:
    Code:
defaults write com.microsoft.Windows-Phone-7-Connector ZuneEnabled -bool YES
  4. Push [Enter]
  5. Open Windows Phone 7 Connector and...
  6. Sync

I just discovered this literally minutes ago, so I haven't had a lot of time to test it. I was however able to successfully sync music and pictures to and back from my Zune HD.

EDIT: ONLY WORKS ON ZUNE HD

Request: A different picture
Reason: Only getting a red-x'd box.

P.S.: Cool find though

Well done Nathan. Hopefully this is stable enough for everyone to use.

Maybe it's a hidden feature that'll be added later?

I've been poking around the resources of the WP7 Connector for a while, the last few version have had only a few Zune graphics, but the latest one has had all of the colors, so I think it has been in for a while, just not completely.

Also, I'm curious how many Mac users there are on this forum?

Yeah, that's a great way to stick it to 'em. Even if it was a feature they were planning on rolling out at some point, the fact that users were able to oust them makes me happy. :salut e2:

You're welcome everybody, I looks like I may be able to enable Wireless sync, too. I'm not as certain that it will work but, I'm working on it...

I played around trying to enable wireless sync, but it doesn't look like it's quite ready yet.

I don't think it has been tested yet. Try it if you can and let us know.
