E-Book Reader for Zune HD V1.0

Hi,

This is my First application. I have put in a lot of learning efforts and have made this working. I hope you will like it.

I have added bookmarking functionality, jump to specific page.

First of all thanks very much to the existing ebook reader developed by netrix, i learnt how to display the books in the screen from that solution only. It helped me a lot in learning.

Here are some caps of my application. Sorry the snaps will be crude as i made them in paint.

I have posted more instructions and about the workings of the application in my blog. Please get the code from there and let me know how it is.

There might be bugs, please let me know as soon as you find them.

It doesn't work entirely. When I started it from VS08 I didn't let me process any of the books so I restarted my Zune and just let it start from there. Now those books which I tried to process at my first try don't work and the books I didn't work fine.

I also can't process the book that I added myself.

Hi,

Can you please tell me what were the file names.?

Please try renaming it. dont add any spaces, just keep the filename as small as possible.

I dont know why it happens.. sometimes i am getting system.Io error while reading the book. and if i change the file name it doesnt happen.. dunno the root cause.

Other than this error can you please tell me how was the overall experience.

On further use, it works fine with the books I added, but some of the book excerpts that came with it (Half Blood Prince) won't process (it will process and then say it hasn't been processed), and it seems that after you try to process them unsuccessfully, the app will crash when you tap on their book names. The crash gives error "error in start_root."

HI, even i had the same problem with half blood prince, i renamed it like halfbloodprince.txt. now its working fine..

i really dont know whats th relation with that error and bookname, but it seems to work if we keep the book name as small as possible.

Can you please try renaming your books to small names also and let me know if it works.

Also if you get start_root, then it means there are some temporary files created, and they are corrupted. i ll give an option to clear them in next release. as of now renaming the file will fix that problem too. please keep the book name smaller without any space.

i wosh there was a way to delete bookmarks and books without having to delete the app and then re-whatever its called.

I'm guessing that this still only supports txt files. Unfortunately whoever uploaded all of my PDF's did so by scanning the pages instead of typing it, so this app is kinda useless to me. This, however looks very polished and adds functionality to the existing E-Book Reader, the old reader got me through all of the Halo books, so if I ever feel like reading another e-book I will be sure to download this.

you can actually convert PDF files to .txt files very easily using a windows program called Zilla Pdf converter. search it on google.

When do you think you'll be able to read .pdb files with it, or does someone have a pdb - txt converter?
