Recently I wrote part 1 of a 3 part series on XNA for PC Format magazine. The game is a top-down zombie shooter.
I converted it to ZuneHD and did some adjustments. But this is not a full game. It has no menus, and no real point except surviving. I will continue development based on comments I get at the link below.
Hope you guys like it
k i have tried it and its nice.. but i cant even kill a zombie. this does have work to be done but i think you should develop it into a kik *** game
lol but ya loose health way to fast. zombies are way to fast. flamethrower dosnt kill them :[ map is small
Crap, thats what I get for not testing final build... Reuploading now allowing zombies to be killed
EDIT: ok, please will those 8 unlucky soul's go redownload the game. I had commented out some stuff and forgot to uncomment it :-/
first I LOVE YOU!
second i love how when you die it says "now go to roguecode"
third could you have guns scattered across the floor or a shop where you buy them
4th its not a big deal but maybe have the fire not come out the guys face
5th again not a big deal but gets annoying, there should be like a line or something that tells you where the border is
6th THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS i started to think everyone forgot about the zune and then comes one of my most wanted games
1) Bullet animation instead of fire breathing. Just lines will likely do.
2) As someone already said, borders.
3) Radar
4) Items. Armor, health, different guns, ammo (as other person said, either through store or appearing on the ground)
5) Different zombies (more health or more damage)
6) Menu with Highscores
Crap, thats what I get for not testing final build... Reuploading now allowing zombies to be killed
EDIT: ok, please will those 8 unlucky soul's go redownload the game. I had commented out some stuff and forgot to uncomment it :-/
The XNA "unsafe" error message has nothing to do with viruses and everything to do with whether it detects unverifiable (that is, "unsafe") code in the package. There's nothing unsafe about it, and moreover, XNA false alarms more often than not. This app doesn't even take advantage of OpenZDK (in fact, Rogue doesn't actually have the OpenZDK developer tools installed).
Besides all that, it deployed fine for me, and it's awesome! One issue is the lack of any indication of where the bounding box is, so you only find out where the edge is when you stop moving all of a sudden with a horde of zombies on your tail.
