Description:

screenshottr provides a facility to take screenshots of OpenZDK applications in a similar fashion to the screenshot capability provided by XNA. screenshottr requires that Client for Debugging be running and the debugging environment on the host machine be properly configured. Detailed instructions for use are provided on the Zune Dev Wiki.

screenshottr relies on the Remote Tools Framework, which must be installed before use.

so we cant take a picture without using the remote tool? we cant just push two buttons and it takes a snap shot of our screen?

Not with this utility. The main goal I had in mind was giving developers a way to provide users with a preview of their apps, in which case it can't really get a lot more convenient. If someone wants to build a more sophisticated, end-user focused screenshot app, go right ahead - you can see how it's done in the screenshottr source code.

No, you have to have the app running.

However, it still may be possible with the right coding. I'm thinking, set up a timer to take a screenshot, then "exit" the app using the menu bug. Make sure the app's screen is black so you can't see it behind the menu, then wait for it to take the screenshot.

Since this tool doesn't support a timer or the menu bug (I presume), then that's not really going to happen.

Another problem: With the background changer app there was a conflict with video and background picture layering and you might not be able to screencapture a video playing either.
