i read thread after thread on the fails HD is having. usually with internet or settings. or the problem with it not supporting some game xna thing. so tell me.and dont get me started on late updates and apps...

are you happy with your HD, or do you think apple actually won with touch screen mp3 players?

The first few months i had my, i was happy (got on release day), but after the facebook promise in January, i gave up on the zune. So as of now Apple has won the Touch Screen MP3 players, unless the zune team does something that wins me back. (AKA support to the ps3)

yes. i love my zune hd i wouldnt trade it for anything in the world. even though ive had my problems with some things, like them moving and putting of updates and apps and stuff i still dont mind because i still think my hd even if they never update it, is worth every penny i paid for it

EDIT: and i bought it back when it was still $220

I am very happy with my purchase!!

If I had wanted 1000's of useless apps and such I would have went iPod. The Zune HD has performed as advertised and does the job nicely.

A Zune HD with 20 apps is more useless than the 1000's apps on the iPod Touch.

Apple has not won. Once WinMo7 is released...oh...just you wait...I would tell you all the things it can do....if I had the time...

well I'm pretty mad except im excited for the update reasons why I'm not happy
1. Lack of apps screw quality over quantity
2.WinMo7 killed the zune
3. MS never keeps their promises
4. XNA is horrible
5. we're not inlcuded in XNA 4.0
6. We might not even get any WinMo7 apps
7.Lack of dedication from these forums although im no place to complain
8. Too many people say hey lets DO LINE RIDER(example) 10 months later hey wheres the dev for it oh well...

1. The whole XNA thing is just a game because there Zune HD is Microsoft's eyes is a media play nothing more.
2. Mobile is the next big thing so of course.
3. Microsoft's has never kept promises.
4. Are you a coder or something? Look at bean stalk
6. Duh
8. 6 months* Probably even less than that.

I am very satisfied with my purchase still 3 months after the purchase.

The HD inherited this "Ipod-Touch" killer/rival name off the bat and I think because of that, amongst other things, the expectations were set higher than MS's plans for the device. When people saw tegra they said, amazing apps will be coming out and will tear ipod touch to the ground.

But in the end, if you step back and look, these were all expectations set by customers. MS never said they were rivaling the Ipod, they never said they would release amazing apps.. Everything they promised they have delivered, plus. My purchase was based off of what was promised.. I wanted an MP3 player overall, and video playback would come in handy.

The apps, well everyone has their own opinion of what they like to play, but the small array of apps MS provided, from PGR to Hexic have satisfied my portable gaming cravings. I mean, the apps have quality to them, and while apple has a ton in their pocket, there are a hell of a lot of just plain stupid and time wasting application in that mix.

So my opinion? I'm satisfied, and after using both the Itouch and ZHD, they aren't even in the same rank. The ZHD just feels solid and unique, one of the reasons I went Zune in the first place.

I have been happy with my ZHd 32 gig since I got it about 4 months ago. Not so much now. If I knew there would be such little support to build the platform I would have gotten an itouch. If it can run apps like the itouch why not allow it to.

The Touch is still more useful than the HD, that can't be proven wrong. I currently have both devices 32gb each and my zHD is collecting dust on my desk. When I actually used my Zune HD the battery lasted a whole week because most of the time it was in my pocket. With the touch the battery actually runs out with all of the usage I'm giving it I'm actually worried about the battery instead of worrying what I was going to do to pass the time while I had a Zune HD.

I'm not a 'fanboi', all people are biased to a point but after owning a Cowon Q5W, Sony Walkman, Creative Zen Vision: M, Zune HD, and an iPod Touch I can say that the HD is not impressive and didn't come to its expectations.

Wait, shouldn't this be under zune talk?????

I think that the Zune HD was a great buy, even my chemistry teacher who has a 2nd Gen Zune(that I didn't even know she had one until last friday) loves her zune. I mean it has a more powerful processor, it can display its contents on a tv, it has a subscription service that allows me to download as many songs as I want, and it has a growing number of games made by MS and people using XNA.

Zune HD wasn't a good buy for me.. $219.99 at release+tax, around $240.
Pretty expensive, with random restarts (unstable firmware/bug I guess), there isn't much apps, and one time it erased everything when it was in use..

Yes.

I upgraded my old mp3 player (yes, mp3), I wish the drive space was larger, 32 gig is just too small, I love to carry everything.

However, my listening to PODCASTing has dramatically increased thanks to ZuneHD and my running outside has been greatly enhanced thanks to running music provided by myself! (har har).

Anyway, at this time, my I like is better than I had and wish to return... so good to go...
