the problem started when my 4gb zune would not sync. so i formatted it and tried to restore the firmware and it tries to update but the software freezes and never complets the update. it did finally finish once but it will not detect on the software. any ideas waht to do to fix this would be much appreciated. firmware is 3.20 (35) software is 4.0 please help!!!
Well you did do a complete reset on the Zune so you need to go into the setting on the software and tell it to forget the zune and that it needs to see the new one. Yes i know it is not new but your computer and the Software thinks it is.

Device
Sync Options
Scroll down and click "Forget this player"
Plug the zune back in and resync.
ok so i did the microsoft zunedevices thing and it turns out my software is missing files. ZuneUsbConnection.dll, wdfcoinstall01000.dll, and wdfcoinstall01005.dll, any ideas how to get these files replaced
