Can someone please explain "project pink"?

I don't really get what all of that "project pink news, earlier in the summer meant. What is "project pink"? Does it have anything to do with the Zune HD? Is it even still important?

I would just like to know.

Project pink has been a rumored test project up in redmond combining Zune with Windows Mobile. Last word I heard was there was going to be a "Pink" phone for Verizon. For more info, see here:

I've heard that it's a zune like interface that will run on top of windows mobile 7, such as manila, or touch flo, or spb mobile shell are interfaces that run on top of WM 6-6.1-6.5. (also from what i've heard), it will include many features of the zune, such as the zune marketplace and a media player. This is all what I've heard though, so I could very well be wrong. Ace seems to have some sources for what he's heard... I don't remember where I got my info.
