If you have played Far Cry you'll know the kind of Game this is for the PC, Specifically. All Consoles supported.
Far Cry 2 is essentially 20 square miles of open Carnage. the game itself is 12GB understandable, because the entire game does not do a loading screen once during Gameplay.
There are no Narrow Corridors, besides n the buildings, and no set path. you achieve objectives by roaming to different areas and doing them.
There is almost infinite multiplayer replayability. User created maps, make for an extremely useful, and fun way to continue entertainment by the game.
I am Happy to say I own this, and it is an amazing game. In my opinion.
The gigantic layout is fun to explore since you can ambush a small camp from every single possible angle you can possibly imagine, making planning out tactics a must.
The lack of crysis's nanosuite makes it feel a bit dull but I guess it makes up for it with the multiplayer and lack of loading from place to place and an endless selection of ways to kill people.
I would rent and make sure you can run this, it IS running on the Cry2 engine, so if you couldnt run crysis over 5FPS you might not even want to bother with this (although recent engine tweaks have made it run a tad faster on machines that are less robust).
The story line is ABSOLUTLY HORRIBLE though at least to the point of my saved game.
It's DEFINATLY a LOT more fun then the original Crysis, and a LOT more then I had expected, so I guess I can't say I am disappointed. There are just things they could have done better like better voice acting and a better more unique story line..
It gets better. The map is just huge but eventually you get so you get used to spotting places to ambush. And it does get harder as it goes.
Yeah well I keep dying, losing vehicle, running out of ammo, driving for hours on end. This is NOTHING like Far Cry. This game either A) Sucks or B) Will get better and eventually show how it is related to the first one.
I'm still not playing it much though since I got Gears 2. But I'll come back to this game every now and then.
