Flash Drive + Sync Cable

I have a great idea to give the zune more memory with just a flash drive:

Have two folders: Active files and inactive files. Active files would be on the zune and inactive would be on the flash drive. You could swap files to each folder or just move one file from one to another. The reason I want this is because if the flash drive is accidentally disconnected, there won't be any errors. Also, you could sync files onto the flash drive and then put them on the zune, so it would be like zAlternator.

I'm saying that the Zune can use a flash drive as an extention to its own memory. Every file in the flash drive would be in the Inactive folder.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I doubt it'll ever happen. We'd be more likely to see Micro SD expansion than firmware hack to somehow accomplish this.

You can't directly connect a flash drive to a zune device without an operating system/pc as a go-between...
