Default Zune firmware 2.2 not installing.
Hi!

My Zune, I have reset it, but I can't install the Zune firmware edition 2.2 on it, so It doesn't work yet.

It was like this:

The Zune software is updated, but my zune isn't. I get the error message when i try to update.

1. Backup your zunes library.

2. Do a hard reset on your zune(Press and hold the back+center+left buttons and the zune will delete everything it has on it, as well as the firmware).

3. Follow the directions on your zunes screen.

Thanks, I have done this, it says 'On your PC, open the Zune software and restore the Zune device firmware'.

It doesn't want to install the firmware :confused:

It says there isn't enough space on my Hard Drive on my pc. I only have 207 GB free.

Only 207GB lol. Anyway your probably going to need to go back to the 1.4 FW because 2.2 won't install on a freshly formatted zune. At least I have never seen any success stories of people trying to do it.

I only got it 2 days ago...Where can I get the 1.4 Firmware?

Uninstall the SW that is on your computer and use the disc that came with your zune (if it did come with one).

Thanks, I will try. Yes, it did come with a CD.


The CD has FW 2.1 on it, and it says I must update...same error as before :s

Zune Firmware 1.4
Java Runtime 6

I can't seem to find Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 2 -

Perhaps you could give me a direct link?


I don't have any frimware on my zune, as I just reset it.

Looks like they've got a newer version (Update 3). I'm thinking it should still work fine.
