Default making playlist help

So i finally went out and purchased an 80gb zune last night. The problem I am having is that I have roughly 150gb of music. So i spent the morning transfering over music to the zune that I want on it. Now i want to make playlists, but it seems the only way to make playlists is from my entire collection, not just the collection on my zune. Is this correct? or is there another way to do it? I don't want to have to go thru my entire collection again to make a variety of playlists for all the different needs I have. I want to just go thru the music I have already selected and put on the zune. Maybe there is a different type of software to use with the zune that would allow me to do this?

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Bigunn

the only way to make playlists that are permanent on the device is from the PC. you can 'add' stuff to now playing and make an on-device (only) temp playlist that survives only until you boot the zune.
But, for a big collection relative to the storage on the device, there is a good method that I have found. Don't sync music. Sync playlists, only. Create those on the PC, and when you sync they will cause the required music to sync automagically to the zune. This is really nice when you discover and start using auto-playlists, and those refresh. You can get clever about the playlists (top 100 plays for instance) and those will always be as up to date as your last sync.
