Importing Library / Settings to new HD

Hi all,

I just built a new computer and I'm using my old HD to store all my music, just plugged in. I can't run the Zune software off of the old drive, but it's still installed on it.

I installed the Zune software to my NEW hard drive and directed it to import music from my old hard drive's folder - following along so far? - however, none of the modifications I ever made to the idv3 tags in the last five years or so are present, and it imported EVERYTHING - even music I didn't want to sync.

The short version is - is there a way to import my application settings, etc from the old hard drive to the new one, so that I will have correct album art and tags without having to go through everything again?

I don't believe you are able to. Was your media copied after it was tagged or was it a copy that you had before as a backup that wasn't tagged.

that means you did not apply the changes to the songs themselves. And that implies your song files or more likely the folders they were in were marked read-only. You will need to correct that, and re-tag them.... ouch.
