(some) Serious Discussion threads made only for self aggrandizing glory.

Why is it that when a (special kind of person) comes along and sees "Serious Discussion" they feel like they have to make a thread about topics that have been discussed 30 worlds over? Even if what they are talking about is "Sincere", I feel like they should really think it though before just coming up with something by the seat of their pants. These kinds of threads may attract people by face, but once they get into it,they realize it's not what they really wanted to read. I have talked about this before but it got some pretty negative feedback from the regulators.

I know I'm not the only person who is curious about this need for posts and views... It's stupid!

note: Not everyone makes threads for the reasons I describe above. Only some do and they know who they are. I think the quickest way is how badly they react to this.

Where is this coming from? Weve barely had any threads for quite some time, let alone any serious discussion. Have you kept this bottled up for years and are just deciding to share now? And I must say, I am now tempted to go and create some serious discussion (the sincere kind though, not attention-grabbing BS).
