It depends on what router you have.

If you can spend the extra bucks, I would suggest getting an N adapter. All adapters are backwards compatible, so if you buy N, you can recieve A, B, G, and N. If you buy the N adapter, then you're ready to go if in the future you upgrade your router to N.

i would recommend going for a wired connection though, it is usually much faster and more reliable

It is also more economical (regarding finances). If you need more than the standard lengths that stores supply, look into making your own Ethernet cable.

It'll save you some connection troubles and keep some cash in your pocket.

If you are in the states, I recommend checking out Monoprice.com for your cable needs. I've used it a billion times and it is dirt cheap. I'm not kidding. 100ft of Cat5e cable is about $10. Stuff usually arrives within 2 days too.

That along with not having to pay Microsoft a ridiculous price for the adapter. Microsoft is a rip off when it comes to accessories for the Xbox 360.

I already bought the adapter, only because I only have 1 router, and my brother uses it for his laptop I was pretty PO'd at the price. Still am xD

Linksys makes (or made) a wireless adapter that was for the ps2 and xbox but worked for the ps3 and 360 that plugged into the ethernet port. It was 25 dollars. Just an interesting fact.

Edit: actually come to think of it, that thing worked for anything with an ethernet port, but was branded to work for the ps2 and xbox.

I'm getting kind of tired of bridging my laptop as a network adapter. I should buy a cheap one for my Xbox.

Wireless connection really tends to be worse than wired. Bridging is worse. I strongly recommend using an ethernet cable, your downloads will be faster, and you will lag less.

When at home, using wireless is fine. But at college, I will have it plugged in via ethernet because our internet sucks so very very very very much
