Default A Message to those who still linger

Microsoft has finally scraped off the last bit of their servers tied to the Microsoft Zune software and Zune HD Apps.

- The Music Database in the Zune Software and Zune HD Marketplace do not work anymore, most r all of the songs will no longer play.

- The Zune "E-Book Reader" Microsoft Developed will no longer work any more as it will not download books.

( Concerning the 2nd point, I had fixed the Reader so it would download books, my thread on that is somewhere around here.)

If or when you have the time. Could you please try and see if firmware still downloads and installs on the HD's?

Thanks

It does... Microsoft didn't REALLY shut down all Zune stuff they just want you to think they did... The Marketplace still works but you can't listen to songs on it... The files are still stored on the servers you just have to go looking for them... It's weird...

lol sounds like google, they still have some of their old stuff if you know where to get it, but they want you to use the new.

Yh... If I had time I could probably reverse-engineer the zune software and find a way to pair it with the backend servers to get it working again... But the time it would take wouldn't make it worth it...

Assuming that you are talking about device firmware, can you give a pointer as to how to do this and get the Zune client software to pick it up? I just installed a SSD into my Zune 80 and it looks like the software is unable to version check or get the latest firmware.

thanks in advance.
