Did my 30g just die

I own a first gen that i bought in 2007. I was playing texas holdem and listening to music. went all in and lost so i was out. hit the back button to get back to the main screen and *pffffttt*. the screen froze on the texas holdem main screen. no buttons worked, no locking and unlocking it worked. i currently have it on the charger right now.

I'm currently deployed to afghanistan so i cant just re-boot the software or anything like that.

can anyone give me some advice ?

Try taking it off the charger and letting the battery die, then charge it back up and see if that works.
