Yes, this is old news. They've changed CEO's since then, Apotheker was driving the company into the ground. At first Whitman was going to remain committed to the path he set, but she appears to have wised up. And it matters because HP is one of the biggest PC manufacturers period, and to compete with Apple more companies with more competition driving more innovation is what's needed.

You obviously are unaware of their Business Line that is on par with Lenovo Thinpads and the Dell Precision lines.
