xbox 360 does not recognize disc

well i turned on my xbox not long ago to find it saying "open tray" instead of "play game". i opened the try to check if there was a game in the tray, there was, but it still would not work. i went through microsofts disc drive solution thing to no avail, and i am wondering if anybody out there has a solution. any and all help is appreciated.

*summary: xbox displays "open tray" when a disc is inserted

The eye that reads the disc is probably dirty. But don't go messing with it because that can screw it up big time.

Nevermind, I spammed the open/close button for like 5 minutes and it works again!

lol if you called Microsoft and said that it started happening after a recent update then you couldve gotten a free slim model =/ too late now

Seriously?! Where were you a few days ago? However I don't think I recieved an update recently (and it really isn't hard to check when the last update was).

Oh well... But yeah, MS made that announcement when they announced the new update.
