The primary purpose of Client for Debugging is to debug apps, so you can take screenshots of apps if you debug them with Visual Studio.

so this allows debugging AND file browsing? There wasn't a way of browsing files through Visual Studio before, was there?

Anyway, This is going to be very useful to those developing openZdk apps.

Yes, it allows both. It is the only way to do those things through Visual Studio right now.

I'm sorry about the extended downtime - I was rather lazy and never got around to swapping out the links. Everything should be up again now.

Wonderful! Thank you. Now, I've set everything up, but the connection test fails. I followed the instructions on the Wiki all the way through to step six of Configuring Visual Studio.

Edit: Nevermind, it works after a restart of VS. Thanks again!
What's going on?

Well, after terrible horrible long hours of setting up VS08 and OpenZDK, and downloading example source codes and various things to finally finish my project, I happily installed Client for Debugging and...

XNA Game Studio 3.1 must be installed? I already have it installed... perhaps it was corrupt.

Uninstalled and reinstalled XNA Game Studio 3.1 in case my install became corrupt... and Client for Debugging still won't install because it wants this. Am I missing something or just completely retarded?

@eisertw
Do you have XNA 4.0 or Visual C# 2010 installed?
If so remove them and try again.

I so wish this was the answer, but I only have visual studio 2008 and XNA 3.1.

Edit:

I finally got the program to run. While XNA 4.0 wasn't showing up in my add/remove programs list, there were still files from it on my system. I ran the cleanup utility found at the link below, and removed all the XNA utilities, then in Add/Remove programs, removed the last XNA file (platform tools or something like that). Now it almost deploys, it just needs updated libraries. Another edit coming soon...

Edit 2:

Oh, Zune extensions. Installed, works great.

People should warn about installing XNA 4.0, so far it's done more harm than good.

We have done so countless times. I even made a version of deploykit that works when XNA 4.0 has been installed: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zun...velopment.html
