[SOLVED] Change the "unlock" slider picture
Is there any way to do this? Whenever I go to unlock my Zune HD, it has this lame rainbow pick as the slider picture. Changing the background picture doesn't seem to work, which is weird because there's no background in the interface--it seems like the "lock" screen is the only place the background is displayed.
Does the resolution have to be exact for it to set a pic as a background?
Doesn't have to be exact. Just tap and hold on a picture and select "Set as background" and it should change the lock screen picture.
I did everything you said and still have the rainbow. Maybe I'm not using the right format? Everything I've tried has been a JPEG. I saw a few backgrounds on here that are PNGs, but I couldn't add a PNG to my collection let alone sync it to my Zune.
I use a few pictures for my background. Ideally you'd want to make the resolution 480×272, but the pics I use are 960x544, just so they look a little crisper and they also look nice when zoomed in on.
Not sure why you wouldn't be able to select a pic to set as your background though. You should be able to just hold down on it and the option will appear.

I can select the picture and choose "apply as background." It just doesn't have any effect. Weird.
I'm such an idiot. When viewing the picture, I was misinterpreting the UI. I was thinking the text "apply as background" was the label for the play button instead of an actual clickable element itself.
Hitting "apply as background" works just as it's supposed to.
