One App is Enough!

So the question is why do we still make book readers apps. There probably over 20. We only need is one and its and official one. Guys please give up the reading apps and stick with the one there is in the marketplace.

An ereader app is also a good way for beginners to get a grasp on coding.

I don't remember seeing any book readers showing up after Microsoft released theirs...

they make more because they feel that other ones arent good enough.

Ok. Well I get why they make it(For Learning Code). But first there is a official one in the Zune Marketplace. So nevermind I think I can get over it.

The one in the marketplace doesn't allow you to add your own. The independent ones do.

The official one does, it just can't be from your computer; it uses URL's.

how many of you have gotten the url thing to work? ive only gotten to work once

and i made my own OPDS catalog but it wouldnt import it. so idk.

I haven't had much time to play around with it. I still need to figure out what format it needs. I assumed epub, but it kept saying "Download failed." I'll figure it out and get back to you.

figured it out. The books do have to be in epub format. You can upload your books to file hosting websites (or make your own at webs.com) and get the direct link to the file and put it into tinyurl. That way you can avoid typing errors when putting the address into your zune. Then you let the Zune load for a really long time, and it will get imported. Some of my files are still failing to import, so its probably a formatting issue.

edit2:
after playing around for a bit I found that it appears to have a limit on the size of the file. Also, when downloading, its best to look for epubs formated for kindle. Additionally, you can convert PDFs with a free program called Calibre. Make sure to check the remove all images box when converting files that result as too big.
