Most people are too ignorant young to know that they are being indoctrined, so it will keep happening.
Indoctrination mostly go after young'uns. As they tend to be naive/impressionable. But, it can affect any age as long as they are naive/impressionable enough.

thx Jorvette!
Comprehension was at a 100% level, just some random questioning that actually brought out answers from other parties, unless thinking it was an interrogation of derogatory lineage...
Anywise...
Songs about countries are aright, but songs focused on specific leaders are another matter unless it is being equated as being the same.
Next post from me will establish the reasoning behind this thread's creation.
It is really a "matter" in the first place if it happens once in an isolated incident? I would agree that it would be of reasonable concern if it was a common occurence or even happened a few times. Instead, it just happened once. Most people seem to be ignoring that fact this was just a Black History Month activity and that it is not a part of some agenda to indoctrinate kids into liking Obama.

It starts when they are young, yes. That way when they get older, they have largely biased views resulting from the indoctrination so they can continue to be indoctrined. That is why I did not include just young people.

Okay, I see what you are getting at.

To see the amount of division caused by just a simple video, how impressionable the readers are.
What did we witness?
Obama = evil from one side.
While the other, anti-Obama = evil.
That something considered to be innocuous to one side is considered to be something troubling on the other whilst if it happened the other way around would have resulted in...
THE VERY SAME REACTIONS.
Thus, what can be concluded by this?
That the bulk of the responses from people are from impressionable minds who have had it impressed upon them that the other side is always evil, always wrong, and that their side can do NO wrong.
Ah, what with a simple video, we see the ugliness of humanity in the realm of politics.
That both sides do protest too much... leading to the ultimate conclusion that neither possess the correct answer.
C'est la vie. It was sad in the end to realize that my theory was proven correct...
The impressionable are divided by their impressions into a great divide so that never shall they meet, and work together.

It is amazing you are able to deduce so much from just one discussion. Perhaps you should become a psychic since you can so easily tell exactly what people are like and predict how they would act if the situation was reversed.
However despite your conclusions, my opinion would have been the same whether the song was about Obama, Bush, Kennedy, Nixon, or anyone else. I also do not recall anyone saying that the other side is always evil and that their side can do no wrong.

The theory could have been proven wrong.
I am no psychic, to insinuate so is insulting, and probably goes back to my point.
Since apparently I am being labelled a psychic, I must be full of wrong, eh?
Heaven forbid, that someone approach an experiment then have it sadly validated.

Gow, it's cynicism, it's culturally accepted and encouraged, in combination with human nature's search for causation and encouragement by the politicians of whatever group is in power that minute. We assume whoever is the enemy at the moment is behind everything, whether it's the comies, the repubs, the democrat, the nazis, or even the AI in Halo. Nothing happens without it being the enemy's fault.
For some reason this thread makes me want to listen to Malloy, haven't in quite some time... (for those of you who don't know, Malloy is the left wing version of a limbaugh)

I did not insinuate that you are a psychic. I merely made a suggestion based on the assertions that you made in your previous post. I also did not say that you "must be full of wrong".
That statement was not directed at you. I said that about the video being posted in the first place (and subsequently being reported by Fox News). It is obvious that posting that video would generate fear in some people, especially ones that are already critical, or even cautious about Obama. As can be witnessed by some of the YouTube comments, some people think that Obama is having kids brainwashed even though Obama had nothing to do with it (other than being the chosen subject of the song). Hence my using of the term 'fearmongering'.

The theory was based on a pessimistic view of the world... the theory was proven true in this instance, and in its sister thread on Zunited.
As always theories must always be tested to see if it holds up, or does not.
Guess it served to kill the sceptical optimist.
I believe a pessimist view of the world is justified, however not by this thread. It seems like the only way to prove your theory incorrect would have been either for no one to have an opinion, or for no one to comment about the opposing side.

Or to do the unthinkable, and *gasp* come together. It is possible, since humanity is a variable, and not a constant, but I figured no one would come together that they would be divided.
We don't need no education!
We don't need no thought control,
No dark sarcasm in the classroom!
Teachers leave them kids alone,
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
I would like to clarify, I still think kids should get taught that patriotism is important.
It is, it got us where we are. I believe, if it wasn't for patrioitism we would've lost the Revolutionary war to the British.

I agree, but as long as they do not tell the kids that their country is the greatest country ever and everyone else is inferior because they are not in their land of supreme greatness. I am sure that most places do not do that, but there are still some that give kids that idea.

France, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan...
...|no country engages in those shenanigans.|
It is actually humorous to note the countries that complain about the United States doing that, practice it more widely, and fiercely than the United States.
For instance, never bunch Canada in the subject when talking about America.
Never say you like British, and American humour... people of the former will say you have no taste because of your like of the latter.
Sure, everyone here has run into plenty of examples.
Guess it par for the the course of national pride, but it quickly enters the realm of pissing contest, all too often.

I was not naming any countries, but since fingers are being pointed...
I do not know a single Canadian that thinks Canada is better than every other country in the world. I have seen several Americans claim that America is the best at just about everything, especially things that America is obviously not very good at. There is a big difference between putting everyone else down by claiming that it is better than everyone else and thinking that someone has bad taste because they like something in particular from a certain country.

Fingers were not pointed, just tossed around a couple of country names that came to mind since the United States is included by default due to the nature of this whole thread, and mostly the site.

Really? Really? Come on now, cannot be that naive to think that...unless... *GASP*

Americans can be replaced with the name of any country. People will always claim, that is how people are. After all, the average person is average in both intelligence, and opinion.

One would think so initially until that same mindset carries over into more things than just that. Plus the case I was referring to was based on the fact that people solely considered it bad, and inferior due to the comedy's country of origin.
They exist pretty much everywhere, except in nations that are in the third world who are bombarded with information that nations of the first world are better than their own.
It turns out to be more natural, and exists in greater quantity than one would initially believe.

Unless... That is actually the truth. I do not know every Canadian. It is naive to think that I must know Canadians that think that Canada is better than every other country. There are probably plenty that do think that, but... *GASP* I do not know any of them.

Perhaps that is generally true, but the "average person" is not the same for every country. I was simply sharing information on my experiences, which happens to relate to Americans in particular.

So you mean just like how some people consider something good and superior due to its country of origin? It works both ways and is fueled by misconceptions and bias. It happens with all sorts of other things as well such as politics, products, and religion.
