Wow That was intense, I agree with his statement about freedom, but that doesnt sway my ideas.

You think we could have learned form that one... Now it were the Roman sort of Italian I think things could have been different. Latin would have been interesting... but its still a matter of boats. Technically if it weren't for the English taking over the patch I live in before the Revolution I would be speaking Dutch. Any how the US has already been invaded and subdued by waves of immigrants. Its just the status quo that has kept English as our language of the majority. The biggest thing defending the US from invasion is not its Armed Forces. No matter how much you want to thump your chest and scream "U.S.A.!" at the top of your lungs. The three biggest issues in invading this country and forcing a foreign language on us are: 1) The Pacific Ocean (Hence the need for lots of boats) 2) The Atlantic Ocean (See 1) 3) The Canadian Tundra (There is a whole lot of cold to deal with there and then of course there is a whole lot of cold to get through to even get to Canada in the first place.) Geographically speaking the North American Continent has served us well in defending our nation. It would be a different story if Russia never sold us Alaska... Still it would be a logistical nightmare to invade an entire continent half a world a way. The Allies did it in with Operation Overlord. Again set the chest thumping flag waving thing aside and remember that the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth helped out. And that invasion was greatly facilitated by having the United Kingdom as a staging ground. Could you imagine what it would have been like if the UK fell? If the US still had the willpower to invade Europe we would have been doing it from Greenland... if we were lucky! I highly doubt such an enterprise would have gone off well. Also I doubt the average size European country has the man power to subdue the entirety of this Nation. The Germans tried it with the Soviet Union and we all saw how that worked. So for me, don't use the argument that I would be speaking another language if it wasn't for our men in Uniform. It just doesn't hold up to my twisted logic. Now Chinese... there is a language that will work its way across our world via Free Trade... It was a very well executed piece of propaganda meant to tug at our heart strings when we all saw that he lost his leg. I'm sorry to see that he was wounded so severely, but remember he volunteered. No one forced him to go. He heard the call of duty and served. Should he be respected for that? Absolutely. Should I think his sacrifice was necessary? No. No I don't. We invaded a sovereign country that we had no right to invade. Ties to Al-Qaeda? Saddam kept those wackos at arms length. WMDs? I still have not been convinced on that one. Any how, if the US is supposed to defend the world stability for every nutter claiming to have WMDs, why haven't we invaded Israel? North Korea? Pakistan? India? This messy imperialistic adventure has set the precedence for other countries to have the excuse to invade another country... Russia and Georgia? Of course this kind of thing has happen since humans had nations to get excited about, but the fact that the US did it has robbed us of the Moral High ground to tell other not to. Well the copier has been warmed up for far too long already... I need to start printing things. If you can't tell I'll probably be voting for Obama. And yes people have died to give me that right... they served in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.

Not necessarily when you lose the will to fight you have pretty much lost your personality, and well basically everything, because don't you fight for things on a daily basis whether it be your values or something of sentiment.
