Edgar Mitchell, respected Astronaut who walked on the moon, admits aliens exist.

This isn't the first time that he's claimed this, but is he telling the truth or is he lying? Personally, I don't have any reasons to doubt him... what does he gain out of lying? He mentions that he believes disclosure is very near, and there is enough evidence out as we speak. That brings several questions...

1. How will the public react? Will we all accept the fact, and get on with our lives? Will we panic, will we be mad at the government?

2. How will this affect religion (specifically Christianity)? Many Christians firmly believe we are the only life form on Earth, but the truth is, the existence of Aliens do not contradict with the Bible.

3. Can you imagine aliens 'immigrating' to Earth? Kinda freaky, huh? Reminds me of that South Park episode with the Goobacks.

Wow, I'd find this super cool if it was in fact true... but I still find it a tad hard to believe. Yes, I believe aliens surely exist.. but I just don't see this specific man having ever made contact. Also, even if he has been to the moon, respectable people do do crazy things.

Well, if you've actually listened to the interview, he never claimed to have met them personally. He is 100% positive that there has been contact (numerous times) with aliens in the past, and even in the present.

Uh..I made a thread about this a couple hours ago..but since you have questions I guess I'll put what I think.

1. Not too sure what the public will think. But some people won't care much about the aliens. Many will be angry at the government.

2. Many Christians I know believe that aliens are a possibility. Aliens do not contradict the Bible, and there is alot of space in the universe.

3. That would be kind of weird. I can't imagine why they'd what to do over here though.

Meh, yeah, I was only a few seconds into the interview when I posted.. but I think I misread somethin thinking he had made contact. Anyways, i'll answer the ?'s now.
1. If we've succesfully made contact a while back, and since then had no problems, I can't imagine too many people will be "freaking out" I imagine the majority will be extremely curious, many in disbelief, and some concerned about possible outcomes.
2. It will challenge some religious beliefs, but for those who are not hardcore christians I believe people will accept religion, and the other lifeforms without any problem.
3. Never saw that EP... but that'd be so crazy. Most likely they wouldn't be able to survive here without numerous precautions... imagine what disease could spread. Our immune systoms would be SO different. They would have been exposed to so many things that we have never experienced, so even if they were friendly, them migrating could be the end of us.

I don't think it will be that simple. Look at all the trouble people have had accepting each other in the past. Now Imagine that, but instead of other people its an entire different species.

I would love to be part of an engineering team to reverse-engineer alien technology. I know a lot of people have severe fears of alien encounters but personally I would love to see how they work and let them see how we work and learn from one another. Besides they most likely have pewpew lasers I can play with, PEW PEW ^^

It's not the first time anyone has gone out and yelled 'aliens are real' - but just because this dude is a former astronaut makes it more credible? i dont think so.


I do not deny that there is other life in the universe, but i don't believe the govt hiding it from us, because aliens have never been here.

Why would an astronaut want publicity? He already went to the moon for christ sake! All we need now is proof, but Im sure that we cannot be alone in the universe, I mean really its too big for there not to be anything else out there
