That will never happen, the earth is 70% water, we already purify sewer water. No way.

Good to know we survive 2012.

This isn't going to happen, however. Water doesn't just disapear. It may evaporate, but in time it will eventually come back to Earth. Water never leaves the atmosphere, it just changes states and circulates. Also, people would not be able to function on 1/2 a glass of water, and if there wasn't enough oxygen to synthetically make water, there wouldn't be enough for humans to function. To me this movie is just a slideshow of bald people set to dramatic music.

I guess if it was a possibility of happening, then it would be sad
But Gregory is right, the Earth is 75% Water with all those purification systems, we most likely won't run out of water
Also Saline made a good points too

That's not going to happen. There's a lot of money to be made in dealing with global climate change and possible droughts.

yes earth is 75% water but most of them are salt water, and this video happened cause global warming melted all the reserved FRESH water that like 80% of the world gets from... yea we have the technology to transform salt to fresh water but that process is slow and the world demands water FAST. that's how i guess the 1/2 glass of water came from... the salt-to-fresh water filter... but FOR SURE this isnt gonna happen in 2070 that's too early, but sooner or later this WILL happen one day.

Desalination is slow, for now. Like how computers used to be slow. The global water demand is an excellent incentive to advance this technology because whoever does it can make a fortune.

The process isn't too slow, and I don't believe anybody has attempted to do this in large amounts.

Uh huh, so when water evaporates it takes the salt up into the atmosphere with it? Because if it rained salt then crops wouldn't grow. Water is also provided by snow and ice melting, which if global warming would occur would cause flash-flooding, which would presumably create large lakes and ponds... which consist of what? ... FRESH WATER! Hooray!

Heh, they reclaim sewage water into drinkable water and when they first did it people didn't like the taste of the water because it was TOO clean so they had to add some chlorine and other stuff to dirty it up. Now if waste water can be recycled what makes this whole drought future even possible? Maybe I should send the guy some hydration salts so he will quit writing the future.

By the by, the information used in the letter dates before the whole reclaimed water was perfected. As I remember the same thing be discussed when I was in 6th grade (1992).

What is more believable is that people will look too much into this panic and horde water to the point they smell really awful and it shortens my lifespan due to smelling their unwashed persons.

when water evaporates it would leave the salt on the ground or where ever the water was

Screw the laws of physics, the water just magically goes poof!

I love that chain letters have made it to the Youtube form, I was getting worried.

i'm not a global warming freak but i do like science and water dont go poof, all they do is evaproate and flow back to sea. but the water we get now is from """SLOWLY""" melting ice, if global warming occurs then there'll be no more constant water, that means we would only get water in raining seasons and no other seasons. ofcourse we can solve this by building a dam but that'll have to be a awefully big dam!

Anyone with enough knowledge in science and farm science and Actual nature should know that Global Warming is a total MYTH, Gow, back me up here? lol the video is never going to happen, because humanity is more likely to die out or leave earth before earth runs THAT low on fresh water.

global warming NOT myth... well it might could be cause we might be going into an ice age that earth gets every few thousand years... but that's beside the point.

and i TOTALLY agree that mankind would probably find another planet before earth gets that bad. by then probably we can travel in light years or something...
