Well I'm sure once your a crackhead you are always a crackhead. But perhaps someone who is in a situation where they are willing and ready to try something will choose the Legal-Pot over Illegal-Crack... Honestly I intended for that to be a sarcastic comment but I worded it badly. But who knows, maybe there would be.

sounds like perfectly fine logic to me!
all I know is that I'm not going to be doing crack or pot any time soon, so I don't have to worry.

As an adult, you have the right to choose your path in life, and if that involves drugs, illegal or not, so be it. I personally do not smoke pot, but I am all for it being legalized. I feel that if an adult can make a decision and acts accordingly on that decision, that he or she must be responsible for that decision. I know quite a few people who do smoke, and it is not hard for them to get their hands on it. It is basically legal nowadays, and even the US Government has a select group of people using it for medical purposes (or so I have read).

I've heard that they use it for medical purposes too. Like in Half Baked! YEAH DAVE Chapelle!!!! ...off topic......
but i can see what you mean about the whole "that if an adult can make a decision and acts accordingly on that decision, that he or she must be responsible for that decision." I agree

I believe it should be. It has some medical benefits (or so I've heard...)
It also would drastically decriminalize the whole weed market. Theres so much crap people go through sometimes just to get weed, like violence and all that stuff. Theres a ton of people in jail for smoking a joint. Legalizing weed would fix all this.
Think of what happened when alcohol was made illegal. Remember what happened? Legalizing weed could be applied to that too.

it would be nice if it was but it would put alot of people out of business because instead of fries and a burger you would be able to get burgers and weed

Prohibition failed because though it was illegal to sell/transport alcohol, the consumption of it was not covered under law. Thus, people "magically" got ahold of it and drank to their hearts content.

Nearly the same thing is happening with marijuana, minus the fact it's not illegal to smoke it. There's a big black market.
People won't do anything about it. If they want to get ahold of it, they already can.

It'd be hard to corrupt people based on the lure of weed, but if you're talking alcohol, then you'll have a few more supporters.

Weed should be legalized because the government could make so much money off it it would be just like alcohol if they legalized it...

I am independent but I usually tend to swing more right than left on issues. But I do believe weed should be legalized to a certain extent. I don't smoke the stuff, but I believe people have a right to put whatever in their bodies that they want, and in no way should the government interfere unless it is harming another person.

Which is actually the main difference between Alcohol and Weed. You can't get drunk from smelling beer, but you sure as hell can get high from pot smoke. Which is why I propose that it is only legal to smoke it on your private property and if your a minor, you must have parental consent.
