This is the way I look at it:

I consider myself a responsible man, I have been at my job for 10 years and I take care of my family. I also like smoking a little weed every now and then but I have NEVER been under the influence at work, EVER. Now if I decide to smoke a blunt on Saturday, and then get picked on Monday for a random drug test at work, I can be fired for testing dirty. Now keep in mind I was only under the influence for a couple hours on Saturday and this was done in the comfort of my own home.

On the other hand, my whole company can go out to a restaurant for a celebration and the alcohol will be flowing and somebody can get lit to the point to where they are impaired enough to get a DUI, if not kill somebody in the act of driving drunk.

Yet alcohol, one of the biggest causes of deaths in this country, is legal and socially acceptable while weed is neither.

Weed makes you calm, alcohol makes you think you're Superman.

It makes absolutely no sense that it's ok for me to go to a bar and get **** faced and make myself a danger to everyone in the vicinity, yet I can't even blaze in the comfort of my own home while watching "Half Baked"

Weed isn't nearly the threat to us that alcohol is very well proven to be, yet weed is the illegal substance........that makes alot of sense.

Weed should definatly be legalized. The only reson its not legal is because corporations cant make money off it cause we could all grow it in our back yard

Marijuana is a part of cultures in the carribean. But its also why Bob Marley is dead. It could be legalized but people would have to be responsible so that they dont smoke themselves to death.

I do not see the real point in smoking period, and I was a smoker and of weed when I was younger. Sometimes you figure out your habit(s) are pointless and harmful.
Anyway, I also do not see a reason to keep weed illegal.
People are irresponsible with cigarettes and alcohol so why not one more? Its not like people do not smoke it already so whatever.
This is supposed to be the land of the free. The American dream to live how you want right?
So what is it to someone if another person responsibly drinks in their own home. As long as they do not drive and affect others? Nothing to me. It is their right.
Same with weed. Although it seems highly pointless and a waster of money to me, it should be the right of the individual to smoke it if done responsibly.
Take my opinion with a grain of salt, but what is the real big deal? Its a person's right to live how they see fit in the US of A, so let them. Just have the same laws as alcohol when it comes to driving, and do not allow it in public places so those of us who wish to be smart and healthy can do so without forcefully having to inhale smoke we do not want.
Plus, employers still should have the right to refuse to employ drug users. It is their right as well to do so. The Military should also be 100% drug free as we have to be. Makes sense.
There, legalize it.

That's not correct.
He refused treatment because it was against his religion.

Really? Ask my work and 99% will say he thought weed would cure him haha. I guess 99% of us are wrong. Oh well, I cannot say I am a Bob Marley expert or know the man's bio, I just heard that quite a few times, thats all. Hear say is not always the best source of info. My fault.

No problem. I think it would have been less silly of him to think that weed would cure him, instead of doing nothing to save himself, but that's religion for you.

He got cancer in his toe and instead of having it amputated, because it was against his beliefs (he'd be incomplete or not whole as a person, and therefore on stage and just in his life in general), he let it just spread through his body, leading to his death.

Cryptic riddling that suggests that all drugs or more drugs than just marijuana should be legal. Can't say for sure as it is a riddle with a very ambiguous answer.

On a related note, in Allen County (where I live) they just did the largest drug bust ever today. Busted a guy who had 3 tons of marijuana in his apartment or something to that effect.

3 tons of Marijuana...I think medicinal use gets thrown out the window in his case.

What's sad is that he may get life without parole, which most rapists and murderers do not.
