Default Is PETA over stepping their bounds?

I was wondering, PETA is always trying to make the world a better place for animals, but in turn it makes the world miserable for us. I just wanted to know everyones opinion on the matter.

They have a point on animal abuse(ala Michael Vick) but tomatoing people and breaking into testing facilities to free the animals is too much

as long as they dont protest at funerals like some Radical Christians I don't care what they do as much as I don't care about the writers strike.

I think PETA does a fairly good job.

PETA is a hypocritical organization they save animals only to euthanize them later... death is death after all.

The ASPCA is a much better organization and commands more respect than PETA ever will, because in the end PETA is just a group of whackos who damn the consequences to "save" animals at the same time disregarding the rights of the animal species they themselves are a part of...the human race.

PETA is right(sometimes), they just aren't very smart about how to go about things. throwing crap on a fur coat isn't going to get the person to stop buyng fur, in fact it's going to make them go get a new that day. They need to find more constructive ways to get their point across.

On a side note, I heard they wanted to kill a BABY Panda, because they said that people intervened when it would have died in the wild(it's mother died and people took it into a zoo and nursed it to health). WTF! that's not very PETA like.

Actually, it is very PETA like. They want to save animals to feel better about themselves but only to a certain extent. Hear about the big ruckus over the Polar Bear in Germany?

I paraphrase what I typed earlier, PETA is like the ASPCA except they don't play by rules and seem to have gone off the deep end.

PETA is kind of.. I dunno. I agree with the whole anti-fur, anti-animal cruelty thing, but they're so.. extremist like.. =/

Humorously, People for Eating Tasty Animals.

Seriously and factually, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

ASPCA is the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

I don't get what's the big deal with fur coats? I understand like in the past when there really wasn't an alternative to protect against the cold, but now.. what? I think faux fur looks so much better, anyway.

If anyone threw a tomato at me over that I'd punch them in the face, go buy a steak, and beat them with it.

I don't get it, people wore fur back in olden times and were praised, and animal treatment was alot worse than it is now, but now someone wears fur and they get tomatoes thrown at them. It's rude and it's not their place to do it, it's like with christians, they don't have the right in my opinion to go knocking at peoples doors, same basic principal, keep your nose out of everyone else's buisness.

yes thats because at some point in history people were treated horribly too in factories but then something happened......awareness. there were all those exposes by sinclair and such about the horrors of the chicago meat factories and treatment of children and people started to be more aware of the bad conditions. also back in the olden days, animals were not kept in farms so that they would be killed, hunters went out and caught animals for fur as opposed to breeding them simply to be worn later. idk.....i guess its wrong to throw tomatoes at people......because its assault to say the least, but i can see why people are more aware now than the dark ages
