Well just to say this, I had been waiting for a long time for this to come out. At the time it had been on my top four games for the zune list. So far every thing has worked except that I allways start taunting the rats and goblins.
Anyway great game six out of five for preview ratings. I can't wait untill the final version of this and running man.
I understand what you mean, because you own a 4GB Zune, which has a very small display. And to be honest I like the idea, but I guess I have no more controls left. Back, Center, DPad and Play buttons are already used in the game. Maybe some kind of option in the options menu? But I don't know if this makes sense at all because you will not see as much of the environment as intended, so you most likely will oversee things and run kinda blind through the wilderness...
what if the game started with a magnifying lens in your weapon inventory that when equipped, it magnifies the playing field (centered on the player)... that way those who don't need it can leave it in inventory or drop it.
I guess a better solution is adding an option to the ingame menu (where the save game functionality will be added later... this disk in the ingame minimenu). I guess it makes more sense to let the player enable/disable the magnifying whenever he wants to...
Yup, I did... (I read EVERY post in this thread). Its on my list, but has lower priority than the inventory bug that resets the Zune... so I will investigate later... but I will not forget about it
I'm happy that we have such a skilled programmer working on something like this on his own spare time without expecting money from his users.. your dedication melts my heart, Dirk.
I'm still on the lookout for new bugs etc, but I've found a couple of ideas that came to mind while playing v0.2 of the preview:
1) use the mushrooms on overworld in some sort of quest. (in final version)
2) have an alchemy mode: use harvested items from overworld, dungeons, monsters etc to 'cook' together into better items, potions, or weapons or equipment..
that's all for now, just ideas.. use them if you want, drop them if you think its not a good idea.
