As well of laws of Zune coding sense. Emulation is just too processor intensive to run on a restricted Zune running a compact .NET framework. If we could make custom firmware it could be possible, but barring that, we can't make such "direct ports" work.
Oh, and for the record, emulators of all sorts are 100% legal in the US. In fact, CG owns an emulator board,
