A crank charger for the zune?

So i was thinking about doing this myself but i haven't found a cheap crank flashlight or an extra sync cable.

Here's a link to a video that teaches how to charge things through a crank charger.

The video shows that it powers up to 5 volts. That's about as much as the usb powering.

So this would be great and ideal source of extra charging without needing a computer or your xbox on.

Well, there's nothing stopping this from working. All we need is for someone to get a decent one and slice up a sync cable to hook it up. If I had the tools(and an extra sync cable >.>), I'd try it myself. Perhaps during Christmas break.

Crank it to charge it?
How long would you have to do that before your hand gets tired? Or in fact, how much can it charge?

No one ever said it would be particularly useful. A small "emergency charge" won't last long for any sort of multimedia use. It would be awesome, that's it. Just to say you've done it. :3

Very interesting.

I would have to say this though: Someone has WAY too much time on his/her hands to even think of this.

One little problem: I don't have one of these flashlights and no one around here sells them. (I live in the armpit of the US.) While this tutorial was intriquing, it was completely useless to me.

crank chargers won't last.. not very useful.. tried those on my phone before
