itunes formats into the format I tell it to. In my case, mp3s at 192 kb/s. I've found itunes to be a really great way to manage your library and update meta info, and then merely using the zune's software as an interface to load the files to the device, rather than letting the zune sw manage the media library. It would be cool if we could trick itunes into thinking the zune was an ipod, or get the itunes agent to work with it (the HD hack doesn't assign a drive letter).
