Well I do not think getting an ipod because of a clock makes sense. About as much sense as voting for Hillary because shes a woman...who has a tail, horns, and otherwise is known as Satan, but none the less! Haha, no no no politics, I kid I kid. I want my Zune to take more control with the wifi feature than a clock personally.

Just get it straight, unless the firmware is hacked, or a game can be made with a clock, it is not going to happen.

I don't buy that.. I think evenually MS will release a firmware with a clock.

I dont see why all you zune lovers are *****ing about how the zune should not have clock. What do you have against a few new features. I mean i agree with the fact that it should not be the number one most wanted feature, but it would also be nice to have. I have a NICE watch and i still find myself a little annoyed by the fact that the zune has neither a clock or an alarm

i dont get the obsession with a clock, both your watch and phone will tell the time and everyone willhave at least one ofthise on them at any one time anyway.

Not all people have a watch and yes ppl will have a phone but my zune is in an easier to reach pocket than my phone caus i like to change my music alot so it would be easier for the zune to have the clock and a phone has never needed to have a clock but it has one. the only reason it has one is caus a dev thought oh wouldnt it be nice to have a clock so it got one.
The fact is that nearly all devices are fully of useless features the zune included but people then grow to expect these useless things on all devices. personally people dead set against the zune getting a clock are r3tarded they don't have to use the clock it wont effect them in any way

haha yea....it would be cool if they could somehow make it so there was a setting that could set a clock to show while the device was "off"...and make that option use very little battery power...

a clock is VERY useful especially on a Zune! it's slick black and small so it's stealthy in a classroom. here's an example:

me(Josh): Jason, what time is it?

Jason: it's 12:04

Teacher: Josh you got yourself a detention for talking.

see what i mean? if i had a clock on my zune i would probably get a lot less detention in class. Plus i dont have a watch or a phone. so it's also useful in a car or when you're out of reach from a clock. oh and most of my classes dont have a clock on the wall. so i REALLY need a clock it's my next priority for a zune.

I think that if M$ was ever going to release the clock they would have already. Seeing as many people are already calling them for support, the last thing they need is another million people calling them saying that their clock on their Zune isn't staying on the right time. Also, if they did release it, they would have to make it to where you would have to set it, opening too much opportunities for hackers. So I think if they do decide on a clock, then it will come when the newest zunes are released. But certainly not over a Firmware update.

I can't believe this thread has this many posts. The clock is a necessary feature that many people would use. Obviously it's not necessary for everyone. Anyone arguing against it just wants to be different.

They may not have thought it a viable feature for a zune TBH and adding a clock wouldn't open up any possibilities for hacking the zune seen as it already has time keeping abilities they are just not displayed
so they wouldn't even be technically adding a clock just displaying it

I don't know why people are ***ching about whether or not they want a feature on their zunes when this is a forum about how to solve a hack or mod... but anyway my idea is since I don't have a cellphone and don't really like the concept of having one except for 1 or 2 really personal reasons... I can imagine having a digital clock display on the zune main menu on the upper right hand corner in slightly smaller font than the menu items themselves.. Possible, I'd say yes. Likely in the next week, Probably not.. feature update from MS?? hopefully, but not guaranteed. IF anyone knew how to mod the zune firmware without making the zune fault and drop back to the default backup firmware in the zune.... they'd already have the zune port for linux and / or rockbox to at least 90% by now.
