Or how about this, you get $50 dollars out of your wallet, go to a store, lets say Wal-Mart because it doesn't need to be of good quality, and BUY A WATCH! OH MY GOD! Then, once you get home, you put it on your wrist, and you twist your wrist until you can see the number! Whoa, twisting a wrist, hmm, is that even possible? You better bet it is, I do it atleast 5 times a day when I have someone ask me the time, and get this: IT'S FASTER THAN PULLING OUT MY ZUNE! Unbelieveable, faster than taking my Zune out of my pocket, turn it on, look at the screen, then turning the Zune back off.

I know, it'll blow your mind out of your head at first because of the simplicity of what $50 gets you, but it'll be worth it. Just hope the janitor knows brain surgery.

Exactly the words I was looking for. People can use a damn watch to tell time instead of the Zune. That way you won't have to pull it out of your pocket when you do it.

Seriously, why is this the most wanted feature? It's a damn clock. We should be talking about more video support, or more features. But are we? NOOO. A clock is much better than anything else in the entire world!

I can see where you guys are coming from, not really wanting clocks...and yeah, clocks aren't at the top of my list...but still, it'd be nice to get once...since I don't like wearing watches and don't wanna have to take my phone out all the time, plus my phone is old....so it runs out of battery quick :[

Soo. maybe, someday, I'd would really like it if we had a clock :]

i hope it doesn't....and an alarm? your kidding right? an alarm? how would that work? use the earphones during the night? a speaker? the zune looks nice without a clock....maybe someday...but not now...

I personally would like a clock i used my Zune at work and have it out on the desk
the 4 and 8 gig also have arm/wrist band cases so could be used as a watch.
yes its not necessary but then having album cover showing isnt necessary alot of features arnt necessary in an MP3 Player but they are nice to have. and a note to ppl who would dislike the zune if it gets a clock that's just stupid why would you dislike a product if it gave you more features? you dont have to use them if you dont want to so what difference does it make?
the Zune will most likely keep time any way for the 3 day rule

I constanly get the message that my zune's clock needs to be updated. Why cant you just put the time next to the little play symbol?

Listen, I have two watches. I still would like the clock on the zune. I don't see why people would dismiss the motion so much. just incase i'm somewhere without my watch, look at my zune.

Also at night in my bed, it's dark. i cant reead my watch over on my dresser, but my zune has a backlight and is right there.

Here's some way using zune as a clock:

1)Listen to a radio station and check for time

2)Upload a 12hour or 24hour audio track to zune, 128kbit/s, wma. Start the audiotrack at 12 oclock. The zune will count the time for you automatically. The left side under the album art is your current time and the right side under the album art is your time left before 12o'clock.

3)Make a slideshow video of every second of the day. Play the video at 12 oclock.

4)Go into microsoft excel and make a chart of every hour:second:day and export each cell as a jpeg file, 320x240. Caculate the amount pictures shown in zune using the picture browser per second. Duplicate every picture by that number. Batch rename the pictures so the time is in order. Sync all pictures to a folder in zune. Get a ducktape to the d-pad to let it scroll forever.

In sleep mode (holding the Play/Pause button) the Zune should still be using some power, right?

A clock could be possible with an ideal firmware on the current zunes, as long as they don't completely shut off the Zune...but I'm probably missing something about Sleep mode.

Actually, your right, it does use some power, that's why if you press play after "awakening" it, it'll start the last song off where you stopped, but if you turn it off (back and down), then power it back on, it doesn't save anything but settings. Although, back when the 3 plays 3 days deal was about, the Zune kept up with the 3 days even when it was off.

lol i remember these discussions a couple months ago. people still want clocks on the zune. it would look nice to me as a feature but its not priority to me.
