Zune 160GB

Ok so ipod has a 160gb hdd why cant the zune?
From what i've seen you can put a 80gb hdd (same like new ipod classics) into a zune. So can you put the 160gb hdd in it also?

Dilema: Is the hdd relatively the same size
Are the ribbon cables the same

It's possible, and likely, but it's also possible that Apple had the manufacturer make a different connector for the new iPods, so it wasn't a simple "Zunes are 160gb too!" deal.

There's a bunch of stuff to take into account though... The orientation of everything in the Zune, whether the Hard Drive will fit, or even be recognized, there's just certain things that someone has to work out.

well no real news yet BUT...... i might be going to Best Buy this weekend and getting a 160 ipod and i will make a video on youtube of me opening it along with "will it fit into the zune" what i do with the 30gb or the ipod shell i leave up to you to decide.........................

That would be the number 1 spot on my list for Zune, a bigger hard drive.

Im glad to see Microsoft really stepping up there game on this new Zune as well.

The highest that I know of that is compatible with the is "120GB Hard Drive Samsung SpinPoint N2".

OK so I got the ipod yesterday and..... **** **** balls cock ass after 3 hours of trying to get the bitch open I got in and what do I find Nothing Zip zilch nada its different the ribbon connection on the ipod hdd is about 1/4 the zune So... i guess i was wrong and [u]FOR NOW[u] we will not have a 160gb zune sorry folks i guess we just keep dreaming for now

I'll give you credit for having the cajones to give it a shot. I wouldn't dream of cracking open a new iPod and risking messing it up.
