Possibility for more codec support?

I'm getting my zune possibly at Radioshack within the weekend or for Christmas, and I've gotta know.

Anybody think they can work on possibility for more codecs supported. I've been preparing to get a Zune since August and if anyone can get out a hack to allow .avi support, I would be forever greatful, if not, there's a wasted 20 gigs of space on my comp .

Seriously though, if anyone thinks they can start working on it with the new firmware, give a shoutout, I'd really love it if someone could try. If it's impossible at the time, please tell me.
