Default Double Eliminator

Well I used to think that only iTunes didn't eliminate double instances of songs, but as I looked to see why my sync list was so long today I saw I had 8 of the same songs for a few artists. Is there or can there be created a tool that will eliminate extra copies of songs?
Just an idea, I searched and found nothing. Link me if the tool already exists.

Thanks-
Skylar

It's as simple as clicking delete. Thats your basic tool there. =]

Sorry, I worded that wrong. I was looking for something more in terms of finding the duplicates. My library has over 5000 songs and a few hundred artists, something simpler than searching through every artist looking for doubles is what I was thinking of.

Well, I had the same problem, and sadly I had to install iTunes to fix it. Once you have that, go to view > show duplicates, it then lists all of the songs with the same/similar titles, then you have to go through and delete one at a time.

I suppose then iTunes is the fix, unless the new Zune Software features this.
