[SOLVED] Beginners' Coding Forum

This would be a forum for new coders to come and discuss code topics and theory, with a few patient staff coders who are willing to help them. That way, the good developers could have their discussions without being bogged down by dozens of topics that only serve as an annoyance, but the amateurs could still go and learn where not everything just flies over their head. I think that the recent ZuneApps incident has shown that there is certianly a niche for this forum to fill.

I like the idea, but it seems like Development Discussions - Zune Boards and In Progress - Zune Boards could have some overlap/similar topics.

Of course I know nothing of programming, so we should probably get some of our programmers and/or Nurta in on this.

Well, I can't speak for all the coders, but I think that Netrix, the mod of the development section, would definitely support this. I'll drop him a PM and get him in on this.

I think it would be a great idea. Some of the other developers have become very annoyed with the simplicity of some questions being asked in the development forums, and it would remove that problem if there was to be another sub-forum added to the Development Discussions - Zune Boards forum, as Locke suggested. It is for the benefit of beginners as well, since they would not be susceptible to ridicule/insults.

I like it as well, I'm just begining with coding and am sure i'll have some noob questions that don't even deserve to be in the developement discusion.

We should make a forum in which the new thread button would direct you to google.
This is where most of Zuneapp's questions can be solved.
Also, I agree with this idea. It could clear up a lot of the spam in the numerous games forums.

I rarely visit this board, but from the issues that have come up, I don't see why this wouldn't help.

Though, we've got to make sure that beginning coders actually use their forum instead of going for Developer Discussion.

But at least you'll have a good place to move their requests to instead of just letting it lie there.

I would not mind moving the threads of those who fail to see the beginner's forum. The point is to have a place for their threads where they will not be harassed, as well as allowing the experienced developers to not be bothered by the simplest of things.

Solid Idea, I know i saw the huge amounts of "simple" questions in the dev area when I was mod there. I support this.
