The attempt to get an auto-related section here: ambitious but rubbish!

I'm a regular poster on finalgear.com and it's a great place. We're mostly into automotive news and goings-on but there's also some discussion of stuff everyone can use. There's also lots of Top Gear and Fifth Gear as well.

Well, on an on-topic note, I can't say I'd ever use this type of forum; my interest in cars extends as far as how they get me from point A to point B. But whatever floats your boat I suppose, if you want it go ahead.

Why is it rubbish? There are a number of discussions here that have nothing, directly, related to the Zune. While I don't support ZB having a discussion for everything under the sun, I do think that this topic does deserve a place here. I think that it would be an active, entertaining, and enlightening topic.

Cars and electronics have equal places in my life. While I am an IT major in college, just about half of the bookmarks on my computers are IT related while an equal number are auto related. Besides, with the auto industry hurting here in the states (pick up the newspaper or read your favorite news site any day about production cuts, layoffs, or strikes), the major manufacturers are looking for new and innovative ways to get people to notice, and buy, their cars, i.e. the Microsoft Sync system for Ford products.

I love TG. Can't wait for it here in the States with Adam Corolla, Tanner Foust, and Eric Stromer. I just hope they stay faithful to the original and do some of the creative (or stupid, based on your opinion) tests that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James may do. (I love the episode where the seal up three cars, fill them to the roof with water, then drive them around the TG track. It didn't prove anything other than it was just something fun to do and watch.)
