video conversion

i think it would be beneficial to the site if we made some solidified version of all the "Convert x-file-type to Zune" threads.

there are so many suggestions that I think they need to be narrowed down. im sure no one works better than others, and some may work better in certain situations; some may work on older computers and some you may need top-of-the-line specs.

as a community, we should work together as a group to come to definitive conclusions about what to use, and in what situation, and more suggestions. its pretty crowded in the forums.

i love my Zune, but I wonder if iPod users have to go through so much hassle just to put video podcasts on their device. the built-in converter does not work, and most of the other programs take hours, and i'm almost tired of it.

so you need a video converter...? ever tried WinAVI MP4/Ipod/PSP converter? but you'll need a codec to work with that converter.. it isn't free.. not much of good converter programs are free though... fastest converter i had was winavi mainly..

wow, no one listened to a word i said, did they?

what we need to do is consolidate all the dozens of suggestions on software, and put em into one forum, or even just one thread. i know it took me days to figure out one that worked on a system like mine, and anyone looking for tips in the forum will just end up trying the first one that pops up, though i've seen numerous suggestions and programs mentioned.

for the sake of newbies, we should consolidate all the suggestions into one spot.

ok maybe this shouldnt be an entire forum, but one clarified thread. i apologize.

but is anyone understanding what i'm saying? all these different programs don't seem to be working for me at all. i did get windows movie maker to kinda work on one of my other computers, but it was ridiculous in the slowness.

seriously, does anyone else have the problem with video podcasts not converting thru Zune software?
