I'd call myself a philosopher. I don't have a specific set of views, but certainly explore the ideas of many different religions and beliefs.

i'm a Unitarian Universalist. I'm technically an Atheist myself, but I do believe in re-incarnation. We beleive that all religions should be in the same church, so we incorporate values from everything. We're a welcoming congregation as well, so gays, lesbians, and trans gender people are freeley allowed to come to our church(es). BTW, our youth group is far amazing, we plan awesome trips to help out people and stuff.

Christian although I don't believe in the "7 Days/5000 year old earth" thing because those were proposed many 1000's of years ago when time itself was not measurable past what humans had an understanding of. It's my understanding that most of these stories were just distractions to tell people in the desert to distract and control them.
I am also a firm beliver in things that are undeniably true based on facts however I will not get into that discussion.

My "religious views" are dependent on Freethought and philosophy.

I'm a radical atheist. I have no problem with the concept of religion...I just find the overall practice and current state of world religion to be wrong, and therefore take no part in it. I do however find some of the ideas from religion to be very interesting and feel that everyone should have a chance to explore them if they wish. I just feel that with the way religion has been corrupted and the way people are being exploited through, it's doing more harm than good at the moment, I think that the ideals being taught are being ignored by those that teach them and that instead of religion being something people use for support and direction in their life, it's being used as a tool to hate others. I know many may disagree with me, which is fine, but I will stick by this view.

I am a pure atheist and I agree with you. When used right, religion can help people's lives and make them better people, but it seems like that rarely happens now.

See, I like the way religion can fill people with hope and can teach people to better their lives. But atr the moment all I see is religion encouraging violence.

I suppose the closest possible way I could describe my view is a student of druidry with satanic leanings.

I am Christian, by the way...Has anybody heard of the church camp called Falls Creek in the Arbuckle Mountains in Oklahoma? Well, If you haven't, you gotta look it up. It is one of the largest youth church camps in the world and it is a life changing experience.
By the way, It is great to see a forum with a religous section. That is ver respectful. Thanks guys for having this section! Now I know where I can come if I have religous questions.

i was raised Christan then one day i wasn't... church felt like a burden and i didn't get anything from it... so i stop going n haven't looked back since(i was 12ish) ... now i have a mix of different eyedeas because i like certain parts from different "religions" i like the idea of the big bang, reincarnation, the idea there is nothing... and yeah but i think most of it lies in Scientology but i'm not very educated on any of the ideas so some of it i make up as i go along

The reason it felt like a burden was likely because you didn't understand what Jesus actually did for you! He gave his life for us and he loves us! There are also many different kinds of churches and some have really upbeat exciting services while others are more for people who prefer otherwise
